TAWY draws inspiration from Sema Tawy, an ancient Egyptian symbol representing the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt. More than a political emblem, it stood for balance, harmony, and the coming together of separate parts to create a stronger whole.
This idea became the foundation of Tawy’s design.
The bag is built around two main leather panels that flow into one another, forming a single continuous structure. Rather than attaching handles as separate components, they emerge naturally from the front and back panels, echoing the intertwined forms seen in the Sema Tawy symbol.
Just as the union of two lands helped shape a more connected and prosperous civilization, Tawy was conceived around the idea of bringing different needs into one harmonious object. Structured yet effortless, refined yet practical, it is designed for the rhythm of everyday life.
The result is a silhouette where form and function are not competing forces, but parts of the same whole.
